THE Industry and Indus­trial Zone Development Central Committee organ­ized a briefing on ongoing work plans to be carried out as per the stipulations provided by the Industrial Zone Law and Rule at the Aye Thaya Industrial Zone Management Committee office in Taunggyi, Shan State, on 12 July.

 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister for Indus­try U Yin Maung Nyunt, who is also secretary of the central committee, said there are 28 industri­al zones and five industrial wards, while two zones are being established locally. Among the established in­dustrial zones, there are 8,035 micro, medium and large enterprises (MSME) which create 556,009 jobs for residents.

 

He continued that the Industrial Zone Law was enacted in 2020, and the Industrial Zone Rule was enacted in 2024.

 

He highlighted the role of local industrial zones in promoting ex­port volume and produc­ing import-substitute products of the country, and supervision to ensure systematic development of the industrial zones as per the law.

 

The Shan State eco­nomic minister reported on industrial development activities in the state. The deputy minister and the party viewed the displayed MSME products.

 

The relevant officials of the department con­cerned participated in the discussion, and attendees raised questions regard­ing the Industrial Zone Law and Rule. — MNA/ KTZH
