THE Association for Myanmar-Japan Social and Economic Development Cooperation (AM­JSEDC) has announced that it will host a conventional Myanmar snack competition on 31 January from 9 am to 5 pm at Pearl Island (Ngwethaungyan area), Myaypadethakyun, Bahan, Yangon, stating that any traditional snack vendor is welcome to join it.

 

Contestants can compete with various tra­ditional snacks, including Monhinga, coconut noodles, steamed sticky rice, Shwe Htamin, Htamane, Mont Lethsaung, bread with coconut milk, Mont Lonegyi, Mont Letkauk, fritters, Mont Phethtote, Sagu, Mont Seinpaung, Mont Bainetaung, Sanwin Makin, Mont Kywal Thal, Bein Mont, Htanthi Mont, Mont Latepya, Mont Kyagwat, Mont Linmaya, Mont Lethnate, and other ethnic snacks.

 

Selections will be based on aroma, taste, and hygiene. Applicants must be active tra­ditional snack vendors and must intend to continue their business. Detailed rules and scoring criteria will be sent directly to regis­tered participants promptly.

 

Interested participants must submit their names to the Competition Organizing Com­mittee at 09 5084331, 09 797169772, and 09 421023030 by noon on 15 January, and the committee will contact selected candidates for confirmation.

 

For each snack category, three finalists will be chosen. Following a health screening and a demonstration of hygienic food preparation, one winner per category will be selected.
