UNION Minister for Construc­tion U Myo Thant received Paki­stan’s Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Tariq Karim yesterday at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

They exchanged open and constructive views on meas­ures to further strengthen the friendship between Myanmar and Pakistan, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, and im­prove the social and economic lives of the people. Discussions focused on areas of collaboration such as infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges, ur­ban and housing development, infrastructure investment, en­gineering-related technology exchanges, and the provision of technical assistance.

Both sides emphasized close cooperation in these mat­ters to ensure the effective im­plementation of joint initiatives.

Union Minister U Myo Thant was accompanied by responsible officials from the Ministry of Con­struction, and officials from the Pakistan Embassy in Myanmar also attended the meeting. — MNA/MKKS
