A ceremony to mark 72nd Kayin Nation Day was held at Zwekabin Hall in Hpa-an Township, Kayin State this morning.
The occasion was graced by Kayin State Chief Minister Daw Nan Khin Htwe Myint, Sayadaw Ashin Sanda Vara, Rev. Saw Bwe Doe, Speaker of Kayin State Hluttaw U Saw Chit Khin, Chairman of Karen National Democratic Party Mann Aung Pyi Soe and Donyin Township Chairman of Karen National Union (KNU) Mann Htein Lin. Then, the officials and attendees opened the ceremony by giving a salute to the Karen National Flag.
First, Sayadaw Ashin Sanda Vara gave remarks and State Chief Minister Daw Nan Khin Htwe Myint also gave remarks. Next, Vice Chairman of Kayin National Day Organizing Committee read the sent message to mark the Kayin National Day. An official from the KNU also clarified the history of Kayin National Day.
Then, Speaker of State Hluttaw U Saw Chit Khin spoke words of thanks to the attendees.
The event is aimed at developing patriotism, preserving historical traditions and participating in building a developed nation.
