A ceremony to open new school building, jointly built by Department for Development for Border Areas and National Races and Nipon Foundation, was held at Post-B.E.P.S-2 in Khemaphyu Village, Hpasaung Township, Kayah State yesterday.
First of all, U L Phawngshi, Chief Minister Kayah State delivered an opening speech and Daw Aye Aye Thant, Planning Director of Nipon Foundation clarified the purpose of the donation of school for Khemaphyu Village.
Next, officials from Nipon Foundation and School construction committee handed over the documents related to the school building to school development committee. Then, official from Nipon Foundation donated K 7.5 million to school development committee. This was followed by the presentation of certificate of honor to official from Nipon Foundation.
The state Chief Minister and officials cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the new school and looked round the class rooms. Also present on the occasion were the state Chief Minister, Ministers from the state government, departmental officials and community leaders.—Nan The Na Aung, IPRD
