A 10-year old boy was killed in a fire in Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region on 4 July, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The fire broke out in a house of a woman named Daw Nyunt Nyunt Thein, 48 years old from Ward-72 in Dagon Myothit Township at early 4 July. The fire is believed to have started from an overheated wire while the house owner was cooking curry in an electric pan. The blaze engulfed a house, killing the house owner’s son.
The corpse of the dead child was sent to a nearby public hospital and the house owner is being questioned over fire negligence by the local police.—MOHA
