The Forest Department under Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is implementing a variety of methods including Community Monitoring and Reporting System (CMRS) to detect and arrest illegal timbers and forest products in Nay Pyi Taw Union territory, regions and states.

From August 1 to 7, a total of illegal timbers weighing 152.92 tons including 54.48 tons of teak, 24.11 tons of hardwood and 74.32 tons of other timbers and 15 vehicles with 27 people were seized across the country, according to the statistics sent by the Forest Departments in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, regions and states .—MNA
