17 Myanmar citizens expelled from Thailand

13 Myanmar citizens who served prison term in Thailand for breaching offenses came back home from Thailand through No.2 Friendship Bridge in Tachilek, Shan State on July 13.

           

Upon their arrival at the border checkpoint, the returnees were conducted medical checkups and got temperature check by health officials. Medical examination for swab from the returnees may take five days or one week. They were quarantined at a religious edifice and foodstuff is supplied by well-wishers.

           

The returnees were handed over to Myanmar immigration officials led by Assistant Director U Maung Maung Myint by Thai counterparts under the arrangements of the Caring and Negotiating Committee for Myanmar Citizens in Mae Sai (CNCMC).—Yar Say (IPRD)
