18 shortlisted applicants interviewed for permanent residence status

The Central Committee for Implementation of Permanent Residency interviewed the 18 shortlisted applicants for permanent residence status at the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.


Committee’s Chairman Union Minister U Thein Swe oversaw interviewing one investor, 13 former Myanmar citizens and their four related persons, with the questions on personal facts and their understandings on the existing laws in Myanmar. Foreign professionals and technicians, investors, former Myanmar citizens and their related persons are eligible for permanent resident status under this system the country. Since 29th January 2015, Myanmar has granted 591 persons, out of 648 applicants, permanent residency until now.—MNA
