2 dead, 3 injured as car plunges into ravine in Northern Shan State

Two people have died and three others were slightly injured after a car plummeted into a ravine in Kunlon Township, Northern Shan State on 11 August.

The accident took place between mileposts 43/5 and 43/6 on the Kunlon-Theinni Road in Kunlon Township, Northern Shan State at about 5:30 p.m. on 11 August. A car driven by a man identified as Kyan Chang Pheik, 42 years old fell into a 350 ft. deep canyon after he lost control. The driver and his son died on the spot and three women were hurt in the incident.


The injured people were sent to a nearby public hospital and an action is being taken against the driver over reckless driving by the local people.—MOHA
