2 dead, one hurt as 12-wheeled truck rears ended another truck in Taungoo

Taungoo, 4 September

 

Two people were killed and one other was seriously injured after a 12-wheeled truck crashed into another truck in Taungoo Township, Bago Region on 2 September.

 

The accident occurred between mileposts 169/6 and 169/7 on the Yangon-Mandalay old road in Tabin Shwehtee Ward, Taungoo Township at around 7:30 p.m. on 2 September. A 12-wheeled truck rear ended another truck carrying two elephants driven by a man identified as U Moe Lin Aung, 41 years old. Two elephants which are being transported to an elephant camp in Nyaungbintha Village from Pyinmana Township fled from the scene due to the accident.

 

Two drivers from both trucks died on the spot and one man named Baryel Htoo, 23 years old was critically hurt in the incident. The injured man was sent to a public hospital and the drivers are being taken action by the local police. The two elephants were found near Thephyu Village.
