2 killed, 2 injured in multiple traffic accident in Ngapali

Two people were killed and two others injured in multiple traffic accident in Ngapali, Myanmar’s one of the popular beach resorts in Rakhine State, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

         

The fatal accident occurred at a traffic light in Zeephyugon Ward, Ngapali Town in Rakhine State at about 3:15 p.m. on 2 March. A six-wheeled truck driven by a man named Khin Maung Soe, 24, crashed into a motorbike and a bicycle after the driver lost control. The car also hit other two motorbikes and stopped after smashing nearby restaurant.

         

Two men identified as Phyo Htet Aung and Maung Win Aye died on the spot and two others sustained minor injuries in the incident. The traffic victims were sent to a public hospital and the truck driver is being investigated over reckless driving by the local police.—MOHA
