20 injured in gas cylinder blast in NW Pakistan

At least 20 people were injured in a gas cylinder blast in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, police sources said on Monday.

The explosion occurred in a gas cylinder shop near the Ring Road area of Peshawar, the provincial capital city of KP, sources from Peshawar police told Xinhua.

The cause of the blast has not been determined yet, said the sources, adding that police have launched an investigation into the explosion.

Following the incident, rescue and police teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

According to local media reports, several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
