2024 Myanmar Business, Investment Forum & CETC Think Tank News Media Seminar held in Beijing

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that the 2024 Myanmar Busi­ness and Investment Forum & CETC Think Tank News Media Seminar, or­ganized by the CETC, took place at the Myanmar Embassy in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, on 31 March.

 

The purpose of the event was to foster bilateral economic collabora­tion and investment, given the friendly neighbour status of the two countries. Myanmar Ambassador U Tin Maung Swe highlighted numerous investment opportunities in Myanmar due to its geographical position and the favour­able environment it offers to investors, extending an invitation to Chinese in­vestors to explore business prospects in Myanmar.

 

 

Daw Thin Thin Aung, Myanmar Commercial Attaché, outlined My­anmar’s investment policy, priority sectors for investment, government initiatives to facilitate favourable con­ditions for investors, the e-commerce platform, and other relevant conditions related to foreign investment.

 

Mr Liu Wei from the Myanmar-Chi­na Culture and Tourism Promotion Society spoke about the friendly nature and cultural richness of the Myanmar people. He also addressed misinfor­mation circulating on Chinese social media about Myanmar, emphasizing the safety of tour destinations in the country.

 

Key figures in attendance at the event included Myanmar Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China U Tin Maung Swe, CETC Patron Mr Xu Liangqing, CETC Chairperson and General Secretary Yu Yanzhong, and potential Chinese investors interested in investing in Myanmar. — ASH/TMT
