28 houses in Yenagyaung Tsp. removed to safety places due to riverbank erosion

Due to the Ayeyawady Riverbank erosion, houses nearby the riverbank in Yenangyaung Township, Magway Region were removed to safety places starting from the third week of April until 8 June, according to Township General Administration Department.


“The riverbank erosion has started on 19 April and houses nearby the riverbank erosion were removed to safety places. A total of 28 houses from three village-tracts have been evacuated until 8 June with the help of local authority, village administrators and local residents”, said Township Administrator U Mann Ko Haul.


Due to the riverbank erosion, a total of 28 houses were removed to safety places and family members from these households were provided cash aids for rice and construction materials.
