Three civilians were killed and six others injured when a civilian vehicle driving from Thayagon Village to Maungtaw Town, Rakhine State, hit a landmine in an area between Leikya Intersection and Htanchaung Bridge yesterday afternoon, according to Myanmar Police Force.
Around 1 pm on 17 November, the civilian vehicle driven by Kyaw Ye Aung and carrying eight Rakhine ethnic people hit the landmine laid by the ARSA terrorist group. The car was flung about 50 feet away from the right side of the road, and a pit of about 7 feet deep and about 15 feet in circumference was formed in the middle of the road. A driver (man), a woman and a child were killed, and six others (a man, a woman and four children) were injured. The dead persons and the injured were taken to Maungtaw Township Hospital.
The ARSA terrorist group has been committing terrorist acts on civilian vehicles and the residents on major public roads in northern Rakhine State. So, the authorities will take actions against them in accordance with the laws.
