Hlegu, 11 September
Three people were killed and 28 people injured after a passenger bus overturned on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region on 9 September.
The accident took place between mileposts 16/6 and 16/7 on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Hlegu Township at about 5 p.m. on 9 September. A passenger bus driven by a man named Tun Oo, 45 years old with 44 people aboard flipped over after the driver lost control of the vehicle. Three people died on the spot and 28 people sustained injuries in the incident.
Seven people among the injured were seriously hurt and were sent to a public hospital in Hlegu Township. The driver is being questioned over reckless driving by the local police.
