33 injured as bus overturns in France

Authorities in France are investigating the cause of the accident that has injured 33 people on a bus that overturned while traveling from Paris to London.


The incident took place at around 11 a.m. on Sunday at an expressway exit near Amiens in northern France.


Local authorities say four people were seriously hurt.


The injured are reported to be from eight countries, and the Japanese Embassy in France said a Japanese citizen is among them.


Local media footage shows the bus lying on its side, off the road with its rear section heavily damaged. Debris of what appears to be seats can also be seen.


The bus is reported to be operated by low-cost FlixBus headquartered in Germany.
