THE 5th Meeting of the Working Group on Transport Cooperation under the China-Myanmar Economic Cooperation Committee was held yesterday morning at the Wyndham Grand Yangon Hotel in Yangon.
Attending the meeting were officials from the China-Myanmar Economic Cooperation Committee, chairman of the Transport Collaboration Working Group Permanent Secretary of Transport and Communications U Win Khant, members of relevant ministries, as well as Mr Wang Xing Xing, the deputy director-general of the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China, and other officials.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the implementation of critical projects under the China-Myanmar Economic Cooperation Plan, cooperation on maritime education and training between China and Myanmar, and collaboration on human resource development and capacity building.
After the meeting, the Chinese delegation visited the international port jetties in Thilawa, Yangon, for a study tour.
The China-Myanmar Economic Cooperation Committee was established in 2018, and since 2019, the Transport Collaboration Working Group, one of the 12 working groups under the committee, has held meetings annually. — MNA/KZL
