IN the first half of the 2024- 2025 financial year, six investment projects were approved in the Magway Region, expected to create jobs for 537 residents.

The total investment amount for these six projects is reported to exceed K20 billion plus approximately $10 million. These projects are expected to create employment opportunities for 537 local workers and primarily focus on manufacturing industries.

An officer from the Magway Region Government stated, “In the first six months of the 2024-2025 financial year, the Magway Region Investment Committee approved six new investment projects. Among these, two projects of Myanmar citizens have a combined investment value exceeding K20 billion, while the remaining four domestic projects total close to K10 billion. These six projects are expected to create job opportunities for 537 workers”.

During this period, there has also been an increase in investment in existing projects, along with a rise in the workforce. The Magway Region Investment Committee continues to approve new investments of Myanmar citizens and foreign investment projects in accordance with legal frameworks and regulations, aiming to create new job opportunities in the region. — ASH/TMT
