A ceremony to commemorate the 70th Pa-O National Day was held at Pa-O National Comprehensive Development Ground in Kangyi ward in the town of Taunggyi yesterday.
Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Lin Htut, Commander of eastern command General Lin Aung, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone Leading Committee Chairman U Khun San Lwin and the Event Holding Committee Chairperson U Khun Win Ko formally opened the ceremony by cutting ribbons.
Then, Pinlaung and Naungtaya cultural troupes performed dance with an ethnic song. Afterwards, officials from the organizing committee read out the messages sent by the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Amyotha Hluttaw speaker Mann Win Khaing Than, National Races Affairs Union Minister Naing Thet Lwin, Pa-O National League Chairman U Aung Khan Ti and Union Solidarity and Development Party.
Then, the organizing committee Chairman U Khun Win Ko extended greetings. Then, the Chief Minister donated K three million which was received by Chairperson U Khun Win Ko.— Maung Maung Than ( Taunggyi)
