Kyaukse Township targets to cultivate 2,677 acres of summer sesame in five village-tracts in the Township, Mandalay Region and now, total of 854 acres of summer sesame have been cultivated.
The village-tracts receive irrigation water for summer sesame from Minyae and Thintwe drains. In Ashaengetoe village-tract, 298 acres are provided water from Minyae drain and 124 acres from Thintwe drain. Likewise, in Htanzintaw village-tract, five acres receive water from Minyae drain and 38 acres from Thintwe drain. In Hnakkataung village-tract, the Minyae drain supplies water for 36 acres and Thintwe drain supplies water for 269 acres. Additionally, 48 acres from Shwedar village-tract recive water from Thintwe drain and 36 acres from Yaebawgyi village-tract receives water from the Thintwe drain, according to Township Land Records Department.
