9 people injured as mini-truck overturns near Bago

Nine people were injured after a mini-truck overturned on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway near Bago on 22 March, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The accident occurred between mileposts 20/1 and 20/2 on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway at about 5:35 p.m. A mini-truck carrying 28 people was driven by a man identified as Ko Phoe Soe, 29 years old from Kanphyu Village, Wetlet Township in Sagaing Region and was heading to Yangon from Nay Pyi Taw.

The vehicle got a puncture and flipped over after the driver lost control of the car.

Nine people including the driver were hurt in the incident and they have been sent to a nearby public hospital in Bago. The driver is being questioned over the accident with reckless driving by the local police station.—MOHA
