AA detonates mines; 2 security personnel, 2 civilians hurt

TWO security personnel and two civilians were injured in two successive mine attacks carried out on 30 October by AA group in MraukU, Rakhine State.

 

The attack targeted security troops patrolling MraukU. The first remote-controlled mine went off around 7:30 pm, 500 kilo-meter south of Ywahaung Village in MraukU Township.

 

After the attack, the security troops carried out a de-mining operation around the site of the attack and found one remote-controlled mine.

While the troops were de-mining the area, the AA detonated another remote-controlled mine.

 

Two security personnel and two civilians, who were passing through on motorcycles, were injured in the attack.

 

They were sent to the Defence Services Hospital and the People’s Hospital in Sittway, according to the report of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services on 31 October.
