Abhidhamma Day celebrated at Shwedagon Pagoda on Thadingyut Full Moon Day

A ceremony to mark the full moon day of Thadingyut, Abhidhamma Day was held at the Shwedagon Pagoda yesterday morning.


During the ceremony, the treasurers of pagoda’s board of trustees took the Five Precepts from State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Tilawka Bhivamsa of Insein Ywama Pariyatti Monastery.


Then, U Khin Maung Htay, the alternative chair of board’s treasurer and U Nyunt Thin, member of board presented religious affairs on behalf of the board and received words of advice from Ovadacariya Sayadaws.


After that, they donated the offertories and shared merits by pouring the water of libation when the Pali University Nyaungdon Pariyatti Monastery’s Presiding Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Pavarabhivamsa finished preaching the sermon.


The ceremony was held in accordance with the health rules of National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).—Zaw Min Latt
