AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers: Myanmar lose to Chinese Taipei 0-2

23 Sep

MYANMAR  suffered  a  0-2  loss  against  Chinese  Taipei  yesterday in the qualifiers for the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.

Team  Myanmar  lined  up  with  goalkeeper  Aung  Kyaw  Phyo,  Htoo  Myat  Khant,  Kaung  Htet  Paing,  Tun  Tun  Win,  Kaung  Khant,  Yan  Naing  Tun,  Kaung  Khant  Kyaw,  Zin  Myo  Aung,  Aung  Thiha  Paing,  Captain  Kyaw  Min  Khant,  and  Sai  Sai Enn Htoo. Head Coach U Min Thu led team Myanmar.

Both Myanmar and Chinese Taipei were in attack mode, and applied the 4-3-3 formation.

Chinese Taipei deserved the win, with its strikers executing and tackling well in the second half.

Although  Myanmar  used  speedy play at the beginning, the team’s strikers could not breach Chinese Taipei’s defence line.

Though  there  were  goal  chances, neither team scored in the first half. A few minutes into the second half, Chinese Taipei upped their game with a change in tactics.

Taking advantage of an error by Myanmar’s defense, Chinese  Taipei  landed  their  first  goal at 47 minutes.

The  goal  was  scored  by  Yungchun, who bypassed three Myanmar defenders to land the ball into the net.

The  young  defenders  of  Chinese Taipei put up a strong defence,  blocking  the  ball  well  against Myanmar’s strikers.

Chinese  Taipei  netted  another goal at 85 minutes. It was scored  by  Luo  Zihan  off  a  free  kick, with an assist from his team mate, striker Huang.

There was not enough time left  for  Myanmar  to  score  consolation  goals,  and  the  match  ended  with  a  win  for  Chinese  Taipei.
