UNION MINISTER for Agricul-ture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Thu received Thai Ambassador Mrs Suphatra Srimaitreephithak and Managing Director of Japan External Trade organization-JETRO Mr Kazufumi Tanaka separately at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting with Thai Ambassador Mrs Suphatra Srimaitreephithak and delegation, they discussed matters related to establishing centres for providing agricultures and livestock technologies, manufacturing value-added products, the use of fertilizers that contain a low percentage of chemical residues and conducting more research projects.
They also discussed matters related to cooperation in rural development projects, agricultural insurances and microfinance businesses, seeds manufacturing which is vital source for agriculture, and cooperation in water resources development and irrigation technology sectors.
During the meeting with Mr Kazufumi Tanaka, the Managing Director of Japan External Trade organization-JETRO, and party, they discussed matters related to investments from Japanese companies in the agriculture and livestock sectors of Myanmar, expanding local and foreign markets of dairy products with the dairy products development projects being invested in Myanmar by Japan’s Noble Diary Company.
They also discussed matters related to proper distribution of dairy products in the regions, the conditions of present actions and sustainable livestock sector development in accordance with 2018 live-stock census of Myanmar, and potentials for promoting foreign investment and farmland utilization of Myanmar in accordance with rules and regulations.
