A total of 206 out of 209 Hlut­taw representatives attend­ed the ninth-day meeting of the second regular ses­sion of the third Amyotha Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

At the meeting, Dep­uty Minister for Finance and Revenue U Han Win Aung responded to the queries raised by U Aung Hla Htwe from the Mag­way Region Constituency 1, saying that to expand the adoption of technology, sep­arate technology-related divisions have been estab­lished within the Internal Revenue Department and the Customs Department. The Internal Revenue De­partment has implemented mobile payment services to enable taxpayers to pay taxes. The Customs Department has also im­plemented the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clear­ance System (MACCS) and made arrangements to enable the payment of cus­toms duties and other taxes through Internet Banking and Mobile Banking.

 

He added that to in­crease tax revenue col­lection, new taxpayers are being identified by cross-checking business lists from the General Ad­ministration Department and the relevant township management and admin­istration committees in re­gions and states with the lists of companies regis­tered with the Directorate of Investment and Compa­ny Administration. In addi­tion, tax service offices and electronic service technolo­gy assistance centres have been opened and operated to help resolve taxpayers’ difficulties related to tax­ation.

 

Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Min Thu replied to ques­tions submitted by U Khin Maung Win from the Mag­way Region Constituency 1, stating that as the pop­ulation in villages within Kyaukse Township has in­creased, residents have ap­plied to the relevant author­ities requesting permission to expand the village area to improve living condi­tions. It will be implement­ed in accordance with the law, rules, regulations, and established procedures.

 

Regarding the ques­tions sent by U Khin Maung Tint from the Yangon Re­gion Constituency 3, the deputy minister said that the seven villages that wish to be converted from forest land into village land are not included in the list of vil­lages officially announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Among these seven villages in Taikkyi Town­ship of Yangon Region, except for Leiklot Village (now Myainghaywun Vil­lage), for which the Minis­try of Natural Resources and Environmental Con­servation has not been able to de-gazette from reserved forest land, the remaining six villages must be pro­cessed in accordance with Section 54 of the Constitu­tion in order to be convert­ed from reserved forest land into village land.

 

Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Thaik Soe responded to the question raised by U Shar Mwe Lashen from the Shan State Constituency 11. He said that the plan to upgrade the suspension bridge to an RC bridge in Shaykhin Village of Mon­gyawng Township will be earmarked for the 2027-28 financial year, subject to the fund allocation.

 

He answered the question raised by U Sein Shwe Min from the Mag­way Region Constituency 4. He said that the Minis­try of Cooperatives and Rural Development will prioritize the construction of a 2.2-mile-long produc­tion road in Kaingtawgyi Village of Minbu Township by carrying out preliminary engineering tasks, and the road will be earmarked for the next financial year.

 

Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe requested approval for the following: the replace­ment of a member on the International Relations Committee, the estab­lishment of the Minerals, Natural Resources, and Environmental Conser­vation Committee, the Construction, Industry, Electricity, and Energy Committee, and the Ho­tels, Tourism, and Culture Committee.
