Amyotha Hluttaw holds Q & A session, decides to discuss a motion

THE thirteenth-day meeting of Second Amyotha Hluttaw’s 12th regular session was held at the Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall yesterday morning where a QNA session was held and Hluttaw decided to discuss a motion tabled.

 

 Q&A Session 

 

In the question and answer session U Whey Tin of Chin State constituency 11 raised a question on a plan to establish an industrial zone that includes SMEs in Paletwa Township was answered by Union Minister for Industry U Khin Maung Cho who said that a field visit team was conducting Feasibility Studies and depending upon the report Chin State government and relevant ministries will coordinate and cooperate according to procedure.

 

Questions raised by U Myo Htat @ Salai Myo Htike of Chin State constituency 12, U Khin Win of Magway Region constituency 2, U Hla Oo of Sagaing Region constituency 4 and U Bwe Khane of Chin State constituency 3 on plans to upgrade or open rural health centres were answered by Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe. The Union Minister also responded to questions raised by Dr. Zaw Lin Htut of Mon State constituency 9 on a plan to provide health care for handicapped persons free or at an affordable rate and U Tun Tun Oo of Mandalay Region constituency 2 on a plan to ease the sale of minor medications for psychiatric patients and pain that were in the restricted for sale category.

 

Similarly questions raised by Dr. Win Myint of Bago Region constituency 11 on a plan to upgrade a village to a town and U Pe Chit of Yangon Region constituency 9 on a plan for allowing trespassing families planting on grazing grounds for more than 40 years to legally work on it were answered by Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Nyi Tun.

 

 Hluttaw agrees to discuss motion on private schools 

 

After the Q&A session, U Kyaw Htway of Yangon Region constituency 8 tabled a motion urging the government to review the quality of private schools opened in connection with a foreign university or education entity or with their own curriculum and to review and announce about the certificates issued by those schools. U Kyaw Htway also explained about the reason for tabling the motion which was supported by U Kyaw Tote of Mandalay Region constituency 7.

After obtaining the Hluttaw’s agreement to discuss the motion, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker announced an agreement to discuss the motion and announced further for Hluttaw representatives to register their names for discussion.

 

The meeting was adjourned at noon and announcement was made of holding the next meeting on Monday 3 June.
