A sharing section of fasci­nating history of ancient Indian currency was held at India Centre on the evening of 16 June.

 

The section was or­ganized by the Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre, Embassy of In­dia, aiming to highlight the cultural and institu­tional links between In­dia and Myanmar.

 

The sharing section was addressed by Indian Ambassador Shri Abhay Thakur, while a historian, sociologist and coin col­lector, Shri Omprakash Gattani on India’s cultur­al heritage, the historical significance of the Assam kingdom, the traditions of coinage, the ancient trade links between As­sam and Myanmar, and the tea industry in India.

 

The sharing section was attended by the Indi­an Ambassador to Myan­mar and his wife, guests, Scholars, people of Indi­an origin and interested people. — ASH/MKKS
