Anti-drug awareness event conducted at Kyaukse University

Anti-drug awareness was conducted at the Theatre of Kyaukse University in Sintgaing Township, Kyaukse District of Mandalay Region at 2:00 pm on February 14.

A total of 350 people including Chairman of Sintgaing Township Administration Body U Bo Aung Maung Maung, the Township Police Chief Police Major Thein Lwin, police inspector Saw Naing Htway from the Anti-Drug Squad-18, Rector of Kyaukse University Dr. Yee Yee Oo and Associate Professors, professors, registrars of the University, lecturers and students attended the event.

First of all, Chairman of the Township Administration Body U Bo Aung Maung Maung delivered an opening speech. Next, police inspector Saw Naing Htway detailed the disadvantages of narcotic drugs, penalties for drug-related crimes and preventive measures against drugs. Afterwards, Police Major Thein Lwin discussed topics related to crime reduction.

This was followed by the presentation of gifts to police officers by family of Kyaukse University. Then, officials posed for the documentary group photo with students.  Police members distributed pamphlets on scourge of drugs to attendees after the event.—Kyaw Swa(Sintgaing)
