Assets Of 2 Runaway Garment Factory Owners To Be Auctioned

The two garment factories whose owners fled without paying salaries to the workers will be put out to bid, according to a relevant tender committee of Yangon Region government.


Those two factories are Myanmar Royal Apollo factory from Shwepyitha Industrial Zone (2) and Su Xing Myanmar factory from Shwe Lin Ban Industrial Zone of Yangon Region. The two factories have about 1,000 workers.


In a bid to pay the salaries to the workers and ensure labour rights under the law, the committee called for a tender to cash out the assets owned by the factories on 21 August.


The pattern sewing machines, other machines and assets totalling 3,485 owned by Myanmar Royal Apollo, and 18,649 assets including furniture, machines, electronic appliances belonged to Su Xing Myanmar will be put up for auction.


Those interested to buy those machines can see at the factories between 24 and 28 August. The assets owned by Su Xing Myanmar will be bid on 31 August, and those owned by Myanmar Royal Apollo will be sold on 3 September at auction.
