A combined team comprising police members from Loilem Township Police Force, officials from the Township General Administration Department, Information and Public Relations Department, Fire Services Department, Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics, Forest Department and members of PNO militia jointly destroyed illegally grown opium poppy plantations in Loilem Township in Shan state(South).
A total of 113 acres of 2.5 feet high blooming poppies have been destroyed starting from December 7 to 12 in the township by local authorities.—E Min(Loilem)
