THE Ayeyawady Foundation, which has been actively engaged in relief operations in earthquake-affected areas, carried out rescue and relief efforts in Sagaing on 31 March in collaboration with local social organizations.
The foundation provided support to social welfare and rescue organizations working tirelessly in Sagaing to ensure the smooth operation of relief efforts and to meet urgent needs. Assistance was given to Thukhakari Rescue Team, which received K20 million and 200 cartons of purified drinking water, Ohbo Rescue Team, which was provided with K10 million and 125 cartons of purified drinking water, and Minlan Youth Social Organizations, which received K100 million and 100 cartons of purified drinking water. Additionally, Thakyadita Nunnery, which suffered severe damage due to the earthquake, donated K10 million and 125 cartons of purified drinking water.
Furthermore, the Ayeyawady Foundation has deployed machinery, including mini excavators, wheel loaders, and dump trucks, to assist in clearing debris from damaged buildings in Sagaing. The foundation has also provided water tankers to supply clean drinking water where needed. — Shine Htet Zaw/KNN
