Bago Regional Chief Minister U Win Thein, regional minister for planning and finance U Nyunt Shwe, MP of Hluttaw, departmental personnel inspected construction of Bago Bridge (Kawa) by Special Bridge Team-9 yesterday.
During the inspection, officials from the Regional Highway Department and Special Bridge Team-9 clarified the construction in details and the chief minister gave guidelines on the construction.
The bridge which is 600 feet long and 30 feet wide was constructed with an allotted fund of K 270 million out of regional budgets. The construction began on 28 May 2018 and will be completed at the end of September 2020.
Upon completion, vehicles from Ohnne and Thatkala will have easy access to Yangon without going through Kawa town. The bridge will largely contribute to the swift and smooth flow of local commodities.
