Bamboo handicrafts grab visitors’ attention at Myanmar Thanakha expo

10 November

Myanmar bamboo entrepreneurs are exhibiting valued-added bamboo handicrafts at the Myanmar Thanakha Conference and their products have caught visitors’ interest at the expo, which is being held from 7 to 9 November in Monywa Township. “Earlier, I had only seen bamboo handicrafts such as bamboo hats, chairs, and lacquerware. But, this expo is really fascinating and unlike other expos due to the good presentation of value-added bamboo handicrafts, agricultural products, and other products. Therefore, I would like to laud all exhibitors participating in the exhibition,” said Ko Soe Aung, a visitor from Monywa Town.

Twenty-seven types of products such as lacquerware raw materials, agricultural chemical mixes, consumer products, decoration products, and different kinds of bamboo handicrafts made from a variety of bamboo plants across the country are being displayed at the expo. — Win Oo (Zayartine)
