A basic disaster management training course was opened at Thuwunna Hall in Thaton, Mon State this morning.
The training course was organized by the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Firstly, Chairman of the district disaster management committee Deputy Commissioner U Myo Min Tun delivered an address and an official from the DDM clarified the purpose of the training course.
The three-day training course runs from 18 to 21 December and is being attended by 30 trainees from the General Administration Department, Fire Services Department and local social organizations in the township.—Thet Oo (Thaton)
