In the US primary elections, ABC news is projecting former Vice President Joe Biden will win the key battleground states of Mississippi, Missouri and Michigan over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
Vote-counting is underway in six states holding primaries to choose the Democratic Party candidate for November's presidential election.
Biden surged ahead of Sanders last week after winning 10 of 14 Super Tuesday states. He has also gained the endorsements of other moderate candidates who have dropped out of the race.
Sanders hopes to garner support from white working-class voters in Michigan, which has the largest number of delegates among the six states.
Biden and Sanders both cancelled campaign rallies scheduled for Tuesday, citing concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.
The two frontrunners had planned to hold the events in Ohio ahead of the state's primary next week.
