Bridge, road section destroyed due to heavy rain in Monghpyak Twsp.

A box culvert and a concrete road connecting to New Market (Kwethit) Ward and Wang Hwe Ward were destroyed and collapsed by water erosion due to incessant rain starting from the evening of June 6 to the morning of June 7 in Monghpyak Township, Tachilek District of eastern Shan State.

A box culvert measuring 16 ft. in length and 14 ft. in width constructed by the Township Development committee in 2008 was collapsed due to water erosion, inflicting the estimated loss of K. 12.2 million.

Similarly, the road section measuring 16 ft. long, six ft. wide and six ft. high was also destroyed after incessant rain, causing the estimate loss of K 13.2 million.—Township IPRD
