A ceremony to provide cash assistance to pregnant women and children below two years old was held in the Town of Shadaw, Kayah State yesterday.
First of all, the state Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Ti Re delivered an opening speech and an official from the state Department of Social Welfare clarified the purpose of the provision of cash assistance for pregnant women and children below two years old.
Afterwards, Minister for the State Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Ti Re, officials from the state Department of Social Welfare and GAD handed over cash aid to the town Administrator.
Altogether 244 people including 132 pregnant women and 112 children below two years old received financial assistance for the months of July, August and September.
Also present on the occasion were the State Minister, officials from Department Social welfare and the Township GAD, departmental officials, social organizations, pregnant women and children below two years old.—Tun Aung, IPRD
