Cash aid provided to victims of riverbank erosion in Pwintbyu Twsp.

An event to provide cash assistance to people whose homes became relocated due to riverbank erosion was held at the meeting room of the Township General Administration Department in Pwintbyu Township of Magway Region at about 2:30 pm on December 21.

At the event, Chairman of the Township Disaster Management Committee U Aung Myat Khaing delivered a speech and discussed matters relating to natural disaster and shared knowledge about the risk of natural disaster.

20 family members from five households in Hngapyawgon Village of Nandawkyun village tract in the Township were evacuated to safer places as a result of Irrawaddy riverbank erosion. Under this cash aid program, five households affected by riverbank erosion received K 500000 including K. 42000 for purchasing rice for seven days.—Hlaing Win Lay
