A ceremony to provide cash aids to disaster victims in Htantalang Township, Hakha District, Chin State was held at Township General Administration Department this morning.
Due to the torrential downpours hit 12 villages in the township in August and September, a total of 1407 became disaster victims and their paddy fields were destroyed. Therefore, the officials from Chin State Department of Disaster Management provided K 37,989,000 for purchasing rice to the disaster victims through respective village administrators.
A total of K 6,786,000 was also provided to a total of 754 disaster victims in five villages in the township on 15 October, according to State Department of Disaster Management.
