Cash aids provided to farmers for damaged crops due to flooding

A ceremony to provide cash assistance to farmers for damaged crops in Thaesulae village-tract in Demoso Township, Kayah State was held at Township Department of Agriculture this morning. 


At the ceremony, an official from the Township Department of Agriculture clarified the purpose of the provision. A total of 100.70 acres of farmland owned by 60 farmers were submerged by flood. Out of which, 27.50 acres of crops owned by eight farmers were damaged due to the flooding. 


A total of K 1.1 million was provided to a total of eight farmers at a rate of K 40,000 per acre. 


On the occasion, Township Administrator, Deputy Township Administrator and departmental personnel and farmers were in attendance.
