Cash assistance provided to farmers for damaged crops

A ceremony to provide cash assistance to farmers for damaged crops due to disaster was held at Pwintbyu Township General Administration Department this morning.


At the ceremony, Magway Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Win Maw Htay gave remarks and Minbu District Administrator U San Htay clarified the process of providing cash aids for damaged crops. Then, On behalf of the farmers who face loss of crops, MP U Tun Tun of Pyithu Hluttaw spoke words of gratitude to the government officials.


Afterwards, the officials handed over K 9,250,000 for 37 acres of summer paddy at a rate of K 250,000 per acre and K 1,800,000 for 180 acres of monsoon paddy at a rate of K 10,000 per acre to farmers via village-tract administrators. They then provided 7022 bags of fertilizer to the farmers for 30967 acres of damaged crops due to flooding in 2015.
