China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation grants stipend to needy students in Hinthada

An event to grant stipend to students by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation was held at the meeting room of Hinthada University in Hinthada, Hinthada in Ayeyawady Region yesterday.

On the occasion, Pro-Rector of the university Dr. Marlar extended greetings and the project director of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation U Daniel explained the purpose of stipends. Next, the pro-rector and the project director of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation presented Ks. 150,000 each to 50 disabled students and students who has financial problems.

The foundation has been engaged in the projects supportive to Myanmar’s education sector and has so far contributed US$ 1.5 million to 1,200 students from twelve universities since the academic year 2015-2016, according to its project director.—Kyaw Kyaw (IPRD)
