As Cocogyun region is blessed with natural beauties including the focal point of two seas, efforts should be made for development tourism industry: Senior General

Only when local people need to strive for operating manufacturing of agriculture and livestock based products will the region meet development, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the meeting with departmental personnel, local people and town elders at the city hall of Cocogyun Township of Yangon Region yesterday morning.

 

The Senior General was accompanied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo and wife, and officials.

 

First, departmental officials and town elders reported regional data and requirements for regional development.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General expressed his pleasure for seeing greater progress of Cocogyun region than that of past 11 years. The Senior General said he posted a stone post as a victorious point of the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. In the tenure of the political government, Cocogyun region delayed in development due to weak unity. The Senior General recounted that he had pledged to provide aid for development of Cocogyun region as much as he can. As Cocogyun region is blessed with natural beauties including the focal point of two seas, efforts should be made for development tourism industry.

 

The Senior General continued to say that coconut plants and cocoa trees are being cultivated on Cocogyun region with conservation of natural beauties for regional development. Cocoa plants will give good results to the local naval base. In fact, such cultivation does not lead to the interests of the Tatmadaw but to the local people. Only when local people need to strive for operating manufacturing of agriculture and livestock based products will the region meet development.

 

The Senior General stressed the need to teach students to have high critical thinking power and actual knowledge of school education. Only when the students have good critical thinking power will they manage their lives better.

 

The Senior General urged departmental personnel to apply their experiences and knowledge in their assigned duties so as to develop Cocogyun region and give advice to building tasks.

 

The Senior General presented foodstuffs for departmental staff of Cocogyun through Chairman of Township Administration Body U Hsan Min.

 

The Senior General and party enjoyed Myanmar traditional Thingyan festival together with departmental staff, town elders and local people by spraying each other. As the Senior General viewed round the city in a motorcade, local people warmly and frankly waved to the Senior General.—MNA/TTA
