A ceremony to provide compensation to farmers for their grievances in construction of Buddha University was held at the Fisheries Department yesterday.
At the ceremony, director of the fisheries department U Sai Kyaw Myint said that arrangements have been made to prevent the grievances of farmers from losing their property. Therefore, the officials inspected the lands and land owners, he added.
Afterwards, K 25.6 million was provided to three farmers for 12.84 acres of land in the construction areas at the rate of K 2 million per acre. The Buddha University will be constructed on a-164.17 acre in Hlawkar village-tract, Bago Township.
