Construction of DRD-funded village hall nearly completed

A multi-purpose hall is being in Gotewa Village, Ngaphe Township in Magway Region and the project is 97 percent completed, according to the Department of Rural Development.


The village hall measuring 50 ft. in length, 25 ft. in width and 10 ft. in height is being built at a cost of Ks. 11.95 million of the funds provided by the DRD under its Village Development Plan in the financial year 2019-220 and contributed by local people. Construction of the multipurpose hall started in the second week of March this year and the project as a whole has been about 97 percent finished, said an official from the DRD.


The DRD is implementing one water supply task, seven rural electrification facilities, and four village halls in 12 villages in the township in the present FY by spending Ks. 150.3 million, U Wai Lin Maung, an official from the department said.
