Under the Community Driven Development Project (CDD), the Department of Rural Development in Magway Region is undertaking rural developmental works. Of which construction of suspension bridge in Lae-U village in Kyeingyi village-tract in Saw Township, Magway Region has been fully completed, according to Saw Township Department of Rural Development.
“A total of 119 people are residing in Lae-U village and before the bridge construction, they were in trouble for transportation when flash flood occurred. Now, the bridge will provide safe and swift transportation and contribute to the development of the village and the local residents in nearby villages are starting to use the bridge”, said an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.
The bridge which is 100 ft in length, five ft in width and 18 ft in height was built with K 14.87 million funded by CDD project and K 9.5 million contributed by public.
A total of 111 developmental works involving 24 road construction projects, five bridge construction projects, 33 projects for electricity supply, six for water supply, 19 school building construction projects, one fencing, five retaining wall construction projects, 18 mulit-purpose hall construction projects have been implemented by the department.
