Disaster drill demonstrated in Seikphyu Township

A natural disaster preparedness drill was held at a fire service station in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region on 13 January.

The firefighters led by commander of the local fire brigade was involved in the drill which was conducted with the intention of teaching local people the proper procedures for safety measures in order to avert the potential dangers of natural disasters. Staff members also disseminated knowledge and information about natural disasters to local people.

         

The firefighters and the Red Cross members demonstrated how to carry out relief and rescue operations in a creek using three speedboats if natural disasters suddenly occur in the region. The members of the Red Cross also showed how to send patients to the hospitals during the drill.
